    Trees offer leopards a comfortable and stable resting place away from disturbances on the ground and enjoy some chill time above the ground. Photographed in Sabi Sands, Greater Kruger NP, South Africa with a Nikon D810 at 280mm. Adding a fill-flash took away unnecessary shadows and created nice catch light in the eyes. Always a privilege to photograph leopards!

    Critically endangered and fighting for survival, a silent battle is fought to save one of the worlds majestic creatures, the white rhinoceros. Plagued by poaching (driven by the demand for rhino horns) and habitat loss, the population of white rhinoceros is rapidly declining, to a point of near extinction. The horns are falsely believed to possess medicinal properties and are also sought after as status symbols.     Taken on safari at Sabi Sands private game reserve, which shares an unfenced border with in the Kruger National Park in South Africa, renowned for exceptional wildlife viewing, especially leopard. Photographing leopard is a exiting and rewarding experience - I am very happy to have captured this yawning leopard just after sunset with an award winning shot.
