  • The Goliath Heron is majestic bird that inhabits the wetland and waterways of sub-Saharan Africa. It is the largest Heron in the world, reaching an impressive height of up to 152cm snd a wingspan of up to 185cm ! Despite its massive size, the Goliath Heron is a surprisingly graceful flier reconnecting us with the tranquility of nature.

  • Lanner falcons attain up to 145kms per hour in pursuit of its prey and are extremely difficult to photograph. This pic taken when the Lanner caught a quelea in the Kgalagadi transfrontier park in South Africa with a Nikon Z9 and 500 mm PF lens with a shutter speed of 1/8000 to freeze the action.   • This ward winning multiple exposure was shot in an underground hide at Zimanga Private Game Reserve in ZA. My aim was to get leopard shot, but the Owl is special.
  • During a photographic safari in the Makgadigadi national park in Botswana I spotted these 3 vultures posing. The background was very busy and the conversion to black and white isolates the subject.
  • White-fronted bee-eaters are usually found on river banks along watercourses foraging on flying insects, especially honeybees. Native to sub-Saharan Africa and highly sociable, they can be seen in large colonies and often bundled together in cold mornings.  Painted with a tapestry of colours, these colourful birds are a pleasure to photograph.
