Kalk Bay is a picturesque and charming seaside village nestled alongside the coastline of Cape Town. The Kalk Bay Harbour has a rich history and dates back to the late 19th century when it served as a trading post for passing ships and the local fishing industry. This picture was taken on one of the piers of the Harbour just before sunrise. Technical: NikonZ8, Nikon Z 14-30mm , 120sec, f11, iso 32.

Over the past week very cold, wet and rainy weather kept Capetonians housebound in Cape Town. Frustrated and yearnig for some outdoors, I took my camera and decided to drive around the countryside near me. It is strange how we take our immediate vicinity for granted, driving past gems not observed in our daily hustle and bustle. The skies were gloomy and grey, but soon the skies opened for a brief moment to reveal nature’s beauty. A mere 2kms from my house this landscape presented itself and I was able to capture this landscape before the next cold front hit. I love the simplistic look and feel, and the Secret Ibis flying over, complimenting the composition. Called “Trees”, the picture will be a stunning print, be sure to order yours !
